Preparing for What’s Next

With the help of technology, project construction can reach a higher level of understanding and collaboration, both in-house and between trades. Kidwell offers virtual construction methods to help reduce waste, maximize effort, minimize changes, increase safety and improve budget management.

Working collaboratively with the design team and other project subcontractors, Kidwell often develops the electrical construction strategy in a 3D project model using the Autodesk Suite, including Revit and Navisworks. Walking through the model with other project partners, we stay informed about the other disciplines’ requirements and can achieve a greater level of cohesiveness during installation. Using Total Station Technology, we accurately translate design data to layout systems on-site. Modeling also allows for prefabrication of system components in the Kidwell Prefabrication Shop. Assemblies are created in a controlled environment with immediate access to tools and technologies before being delivered to the project site for final installation.
